AWEA Windpower 2019

AWEA hired Innovant Public Relations to support the AWEA WINDPOWER 2019 branding and local outreach effort.

The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) is the national trade association for the U.S. wind industry. With thousands of wind industry members and wind policy advocates, AWEA promotes wind energy as a clean source of electricity for American consumers.

Because the United States possesses some of the best renewable energy resources in the world, renewable energy technology is advancing, and there is a growing need for cleaner energy, the U.S. is moving towards a clean energy economy. However, the continued growth of renewable energy in the U.S. faces a serious challenge, the lack of transmission. Clean Line Energy’s goal is to develop transmission lines to bridge the gap between the abundant resources and the population centers that need them.

Innovant lead media relations, branding efforts, website development and maintenance, creation of communications tools and collateral, as well as provide public relations strategy for Clean Line Energy’s projects under development. Clean Line has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Economist, The Atlantic, the Chicago Tribune, the Houston Chronicle, Texas Monthly, Vox, on NPR nationally and regionally,  and many other leading publications.


AWEA hired Innovant to support the AWEA WINDPOWER 2019 branding and local outreach effort. Innovant developed the design lock up and brand elements for the conference, reflecting the theme of Wind+, Powering the Future Together (including seven web ads), as well as led local outreach and engagement for the WINDPOWER 2019 conference. We identified target audiences and built strategic relationships to get the word out and bring awareness to as many people as possible about the upcoming conference, while striving to boost attendance. Innovant was able to secure over a dozen event partnerships with organizations including Pink Petro, Sierra Club Houston, Houston Renewable Energy Networking Group, Houston Rotary, National Ocean Industries Association, WRISE, American Solar Energy Society, Citizens’ Environmental Coalition, and others.
